mid-air.
i'm on the shuttle. i'm easily the youngest person here by 10 years. i think next time i'm going to fly commercial.

how do i feel about going back to germany after staying home for only 3.5 days? i feel fine about it. it's my job. i am not saying i'd choose to go back over staying home, but i am not dreading it. this being a small project, i feel a certain responsibility / duty / personal obligation to make the client happy. i am definitely *not* happy about the number of times they have changed my manager. it takes time to get up to speed on what's going on, and everyone has a different working style.

did i tell you about my cab ride from the detroit airport? my usual guy was busy, so he sent a colleague to pick me up. he asked me the standard questions - what do you do, where are you going, where are you coming from, etc. then he asked me what my goals in life are. and then he asked for an application. i said, oh, you can submit your resume online. he says, i don't think you understand - an application for you, not for your company. bo dang. that made for an uncomfortable rest of the 1 hour cab ride.

i am a zombie. my body has no idea what time it is. neither do i, actually. so i have no plans for this weekend.

everytime i let down my guard at all, i get flanked. i almost want to stop trying, but it just makes me so happy to have someone to share life with. maybe i should just get some friends. hah. :)

i'm here now. it's a little chilly, but not too bad. i think i'll be ok without my big coat. we'll see. -2 celsius, i think the pilot said. i actually slept through the *entire* flight. i didn't think i would miss out on all three meals, the two movies, and the snacks. doh. hopefully this will make the time transition easier, though.

i've been such a zombie lately, but this is the most sleep i've gotten in the past week. i wish i had known i was going to konk out for the whole time - i would've brushed my teeth.

you know, the hours that the cafeteria are open at work really tell you about the working hours. it's not open for breakfast until 7:45am. geez.

out of the five women on the shuttle (out of about 40 people total), three were in my row. how weird is that? they even gave me a choice of rows.

my luggage is sooooo heavy. so heavy that they put a big bright ornage tag on it that says "heavy. ask for assistance to lift." hahaha. i think i'll be glad i brought everything though, because last time i was really hurting after the second month wearing the same clothes from my carry-on bag. i thought i would have more time to shop, but it's really hard to shop when you don't know the stores and the quality and fit of the clothing.

well, supposedly a bunch of my coworkers are coming to stuttgart april 22. that will be nice. it's always good to have more people come visit.
